Goal of Life is God Realization

Yoga Master Swami Sivananda reminded us again and again: the Goal of Life is God Realization. What does this mean? What does God realization mean for you? Is it a faith, a conviction, a point of view? Ideally, God realization is something which transforms your thinking and action. God realization means: God becomes real for you. Self realization means: Your true Self becomes real for you. God is your true Self.

Recording of a live morning talk by Swami Atmaswarupananda at Sivananda Ashram Rishikesh, February, 2014. This recording will help you get interesting insights in how to make God real in your life. You don’t need to wait until you get full God Realization. Make God a reality in your life – now.

Advice to Bhaktas

Full of Bhakti, Swami Sivananda chants first to Krishna. Then Chidananda Om, Hare Rama, Hare Krishna. His chanting reminds us that the Divine Name and remembrance of our True Self is the greatest wisdom.

Obedience is Better than Reverence

Reverence to God, to the Scriptures, to the the tradition, and to God is good. It also helps for experiencing pleasure, to have a good feeling, a feeling of protection and of being blessed. But the main purpose of a Guru is to help to overcome the ego of the disciple. The disciple must understand this – and agree to it. Only then a Guru-disciple-relationship is possible. Devotion to Guru and God is important – but to put the spiritual teachings into practice is most important. Allow God and Guru to work through your body and mind – allow God and Guru to mould you.

This is the essence of this talk by Swami Atmaswarupananda at Sivananda Ashram Rishikesh February 2014. http://www.sivanandaonline.org, http://www.yoga-vidya.org
