237 – Combi-Mini Meditation

It is a busy life. We want to be everywhere at the same time and dabble in everything. It is becoming even more frenetic as most of us are juggling multi tasks. We are always searching for a quick way to relax and meditate.

The Combi-Mini meditation meets this unmet need. It is an easy practice. Light a candle. It must be eye level and twelve inches away from the eyes. Chant AUM seven times. You are practicing trataka. Gaze at the candle, unblinking. When you feel like blinking, close your eyes, and visualize the flame in the space between your brows.

When the flame disappears, open your eyes and gaze at the candle flame. While you are candle gazing, practice the balancing pranayama. Inhale to the count of 5, pause your breath to the count of 5, exhale to the count of 5, and hold the breath to the count of 5. Practice 27 rounds or 54 round, and remember that counting is backwards. No errors are to be made. Use the mantra So Ham. Say So mentally, while inhaling and Ham while exhaling.

The balancing pranayama will balance your prana and work on your wellbeing. You will feel refreshed and in tune with yourself and the cosmos. Chant Aum seven times, and the practice is ended. Aum is chanted loudly and sonorously at the beginning and at the end.
