690 – Who is Ganesha?

We all have different ideas about him. We know that he resolves all obstacles. But do you know that when the dissolution of the universe occurred after the floods, there was complete darkness. This darkness lasted for millions of years.

Suddenly there was the sound of Aum, followed by a gentle and beautiful light. This heralded a new age called Shweta Varaha Kalpa with a new Sun. Shwetavaraha Kalpa is when 50 years of Brahma have elapsed, and one is in the first day of his 50 first year. At the end of a Kalpa, the world is annihilated by fire. One Kalpa is equivalent to 4.32 billion years.

It is mentioned in the Vishnu Purana and Bhagwat Purana. Then the Supreme Being called the Trinity asked Brahma to create a new universe. Brahma meditated on Aum and Ganesha appeared blowing a conch, and dancing with joy. He said that he was the universe. Brahma meditated on Ganesha who asked the Goddesses Siddhi (achievement) and Buddhi (wisdom) to help. Then the universe was created.

Respect to all creatures

He is the first of the Gurus, who guides us. He is invoked at the beginning of all rituals as he is associated with the divine powers of the universe. His mode of transport is a mouse, and this represents that Ganesha respects all creatures.

Gana means a group and Isha or Pati means lord, Ganesha or Ganapati. Ganas on the outer level are the animals of which Ganesha is the ruler. This is on the superficial level. The animals indicate the different souls and energies bound to the world of Samsaras. Ganesha gathers them together under his guidance and offers them to Lord Shiva as the highest awareness.

The Ganas have many meanings. They are the letters or mantras of Sanskrit and Ganesha as Aum is their ruler. The Ganas are the pranas and sense organs, and Ganesha as the inner self is the foremost. The Ganas are the tattvas or elements and represent the ultimate truth. Ganesha is the inner self of the five elements. The Ganas are the events and rhythms in time as the movement of karma. Ganesha is the lord of Karma, the cosmic intelligence that dispenses the fruits of our actions.

Ganesha is the unity of Shiva and Shakti. Meditate upon him and seek his blessings.
