700 – Warm Fuzzies and Cold Pricklies

Every day is a new day and sometimes one is tired of thinking what the next day will bring.

Dear ones, it is so but one has to be careful not to be overwhelmed with the events crowding one’s life. One can be overtaken by situations and yet one can have moments which give one warm fuzzies.

What is a warm fuzzy? A warm fuzzy is what makes people feel happy. There is a tale behind the warm fuzzy. Once upon a time, people gave each other warm fuzzies and a warm fuzzy meant that they gave someone something which made them feel good. Something is not defined; it can be a hug or an item. Then an evil witch appeared, and she was not pleased with the comfortable happiness around her. She convinced the people that if they gave everything away, then there would no warm fuzzies left. They should give each other cold pricklies and cold pricklies do not have to be described.

I shall because I am sure many of your gentle ones have never given a cold prickly to someone. A cold prickly is what makes one feel horrible inside. An example is that I like you but I prefer her to you. One can be rude also and undermine someone by saying I like your dress; it is pretty but you look fat in it. The witch was successful in ruining relationships and everyone started thinking about giving more cold pricklies.

Fuzzies and pricklies by the cats

I find that every morning when I wake up, I have my cats waiting for me in the balcony. Lulu is impatient and she starts her day by wrapping herself round my legs and then she gives me a scratch and a nip. So, every morning I get a warm fuzzy and a cold prickly. Shani, the big black cat, sits on a stool and gazes at me with pebble green eyes unblinkingly. For me this is a warm fuzzy and it makes my day. The cold prickly is the reality that she has a busy day and has no time to waste.

The term warm fuzzy comes from the story of The Warm Fuzzy Tale by Claude Steiner. It is used in a technical sense to illustrate a concept (positive stroke) of transactional analysis. Cold Pricklies are negative strokes.

Dear Ones, give as many warm fuzzies as you can, you never run out of them.
