989 – Seek the prana of words

How careful we must be to use words? There are words and words. It is like a bag of jelly beans and you can choose a word yourself. Words can comfort or hurt. Be careful in your choice.

I was thinking about powerful words, which start with For, which means in deference, in its positive mode. Let us look at them: forgiveness, forbearance, forward, forecast, foreground, forefather, foremost, forerunners. They are all strong words.

Words stay in the atmosphere and they remain even after we are gone. Words have the power to create encouragement and sadness. Words have the power to start bitter battles that cause destruction of relationships. Words can heal nations and humiliate leaders and followers alike. Select your words thoughtfully. Words carry more weight than one gives them.

Words come in three categories.

  1. Words which define you. How do you describe yourself? Do you speak about yourself in an undermining manner? Do you ridicule yourself?
  2. How do you speak to others and how do you speak about others?
  3. How do you speak to the cosmos? Are you positive or negative? Do you always criticize everything? Do you blame the others?

Speech should be truthful, pleasing, beneficial and not agitating to others. It also says that words can change a person’s mood, mindset and even their life. – Bhagwad Gita: Verse 17.15.

Dear ones, pause and speak.
