Examine yourself if you are serious and unsmiling. Why are you like that? Observe a child playing a game and shouting, or just laughing. You can do the same. Stop trying to understand everything around you. Look at the magic, a spider’s web with dew drops in it. Sunlight going through them, and you can see a rainbow.
Sometimes in order to help, He makes us cry
Happy the eyes that sheds tears for His sake
Fortunate the heart that burns for His sake
Laughter always follow tears
Blessed are those who understand
Life blossoms wherever water flows
Where tears are shed divine mercy is shown. – RumiWhen one is joyous from within, sorrow reduces drastically, almost disappearing. And such a contented and blissful yogin is able to take his mind off everything firmly establishing himself in the supreme soul. – Bhagavad Gita (2.65)
The one who does not brood over matters and keeps himself free from expectations maintaining a cheerful disposition attains the highest form of bhakti. – Bhagavad Gita (18.54)
Maintaining a happy state is tapas of the mind. – Bhagavad Gita (17.16)
A Zen story for you
There were tremors in the monastery so the master told his disciples to go a safer place. After the tremors ceased, the master asked his disciples whether they had noticed his composure. He admitted that he did feel apprehensive, but he acted calmly and led them to safety. He then added that he did feel jittery and to control his feelings, he drank a large glass of water, which was on the table. There was a young monk, and he smiled. The master being observant asked why was he smiling? He replied that he had drunk a large glass of soya sauce.
There is no meaning here and according to Osho, one should be in the moment and learn to laugh.
