Live the best life

High on Waves

What do we expect from life?
Excellence in everything that we do.
Positivity in everything that we express.
Love in every moment that we live,
And happiness which connects us with everyone
In this manner, we can live a truly best life. – Swami Niranjanananda

What do we all expect from life?

Be frank with yourself. Is it having a wonderful partner? Is it having immense wealth? Is it being successful? Is it being beautiful/handsome? Is it becoming aware? Is it becoming elevated spiritually? The list goes on and on.

Can we do our best in everything we do? Yes, we can. If we perform to our optimum capacity and take delight in what we are doing. Next step is are we expecting a reward for it? Then a sense of disappointment prevails, when we are not acknowledged.

What about if we enjoy the task and put our best foot forward? Then we have accomplished what we set out to do. We express positivity in every moment. It means that we are being ourselves, genuine and spontaneous. Our state of expression becomes our positive frame of mind.

Love in every moment of our lives is not easy but what does the feeling of love do to us. I am going to write what Osho says about love. He emphasizes that love should be a reality in one’s life. It is not a dream or a poem. He encourages people to love and to actualize love in their lives. He compares love to the fragrance of a flower, suggesting that even after a relationship ends, the love should still be remembered positively.

And happiness which connects us with everyone.

I will quote Osho again. Happiness is not something to be earned or acquired, but rather a natural state of being, a part of our true nature. In this manner we can truly live a best life.

The last line sums up what we want in life. I would describe in my humble way, do your best with no expectations, enjoy yourself while performing the tasks. Look around you with appreciation. See beauty in squalor. It is true, a puddle of dirty water still reflects the rainbow colors. Be compassionate to others and yourself. Actualize the feeling of atmabhava.
