Your heart is your spiritual center

The heart or hrydaya is mentioned in the Bhagwad Gita in several verses. It is referred to as the seat of consciousness, emotions and the divine within. Verse 10.20 states,

I am seated in the heart of all living entities.

Verse 4.42 speaks of

doubts that have arisen in your heart, ‘implying that the heart is the source of mental turmoil.’

Verse 15.15 further emphasizes Krishna’s presence in the heart stating,

I am seated in the hearts of all living beings and from Me comes memory, knowledge, as well as forgetfulness.

Verse 8.12 mentions the practice of fixing the mind in the heart region while performing yoga, suggesting the heart as a focal point for spiritual practice.

Dear ones, do not scorn your heart, it is the seat of the soul, also known as the Jivatma. Listening to your heart will guide you on the path of spiritual realization.
