In any form of prayer, a concept if God is essential. The prayers can be tamasic, rajasic or sattvic. At the tamasic level one is using rituals and asking to be protected from the anger of the deities. However, a tamasic (inert) sadhana becomes rajasic and then the puja is more dynamic. The mind becomes more open and one’s awareness increases. Each one of us wants a healthy life free from harm. Then the rajasic puja becomes sattvic, when prayers are offered for forgiveness, forbearance, love and compassion.
In any form of prayer, one can live a divine life. The first question the seeker has to ask him/her/self is what should one worship? The seeker can worship nature, a personal deity or God. The deity or form for worship represents God. One can pray to a stone, which is painted vermillion and has no form or virtue. This is a very pure of worship, where the stone represents the transcendental being. This stone can give the devotee whatever he/she desires, according to his/her faith.
Universal aims
One is an individual entity; therefore, h/she is the worshipper of God. One’s relationship with God is one of devotee and deity. One acquires steadfastness through faith in God and sadhana. One has similar qualities to an animal. However, one’s lifestyle and behavior distinguish one from animals. One can discriminate between right and wrong. One can follow a life which leads one towards moksha, by following the Purusharthas (worthy human aims) of Artha (prosperity, economic values), Kama (pleasure, love and psychological values), Dharma (righteousness and moral values) and Moksha (liberation and spiritual values). The meaning is that these are our goals of our human existence and the purpose of our soul. These universal aims influence every thought and deed of our lives.
Dear ones, we all have to travel on the path of prayer for upliftment of our consciousness. Let us collectively seek the divine life.
