What are the qualities of an ideal person?

In our ancient scriptures, we referred to men. Now the world has changed, and I would like to describe such a wo/man.

Goodness

What is the definition of goodness? It refers to the qualities of character or conduct that entitle the possessor to approval and esteem. It also means having integrity and honesty.

Bravery

What is the definition of bravery? It is the quality of showing mental or moral strength to face danger, fear or difficulty.

Gratitude

What is the definition of gratitude? Gratitude is a lasting emotion that arises from reflecting on the many things one is thankful for.

Truth

What is the definition of truth? In Hinduism it is defined as something that is eternal and unchanging.

Kindness

What is the definition of kindness? It is an act to alleviate the sufferings of others.

Wisdom

What is the definition of wisdom? It is a state of mind and soul that leads to liberation.

Self-control

What is the definition of self-control? It is the ability remain balanced and calm in a stressful situation.

Dharma

What is the definition of dharma? It is following a code of conduct and sustaining positive order.

Sattwa

What is the definition of Sattwa? It is following a path of selfless service.

Rajas

What is the definition of Rajas? It is the path of ambition and activity.

Tamas

What is the definition of Tamas? It is the path of lethargy and rigidity.

Let us look at our reflection in the mirror of our mind. What do we see and how can we change ourselves to be an ideal person?

We need the blessings of the Goddess (Guru) and pursuit of Sadhana. Our sadhana has to begin with breath awareness and sensory withdrawal (pratyahara). This will enable us to gradually untangle ourselves from our thoughts.
