Swami Sivananda tells the story of the conversation between the Sage Yajnavalkya and his consort Maitreyi from the Brihadaranyaka Upanishad. Yajnavalkya says he is going to retire from the life of a householder and become a sannyasin and that he has to divide the property between Maitreyi and Katayani.
