231 – Blessing to Yoga

“Like the rays of the moon
The light of Yoga is expanding
All religions, beliefs and sects
Are receiving shelter
Under the kalpataru (wish fulfilling tree) of Yoga.
Towards the evolution of consciousness
Yoga has done unforgettable work.
Yoga will become tomorrow’s culture
And will show a new way of life for man-kind.”

“You may practice Yoga and other things but there has to be a very important and central philosophy. ‘Thy will be done.’ When this philosophy emanates from the depths of your whole being, then whatever you face in life becomes a matter of joy and not a psychological or psycho-emotional problem. In fact, there are no real problems in life. We only think we have problems, because we do not understand life in the light of the divine life.”

A great Indian saint wrote this poem.

“All is thy will.
Thy will be done.
Whether you raise me
To the height of spiritual glory,
Or you throw me down
Into the abyss of hell,
I accept it,
Readily, happily with pleasure,
Because that is Thy will.
I am the chariot,
You are the charioteer.
I am the horse,
You are the master.
Keep me as you like.
Use me, misuse me or abuse me,
I have nothing to defend.”

“This is the attitude of total dedication. Man has to do nothing, just surrender himself to God’s will. A simple way of life with minimum requirements, and a simple way of thinking – this is the yogic philosophy.”

Swami Satyananda Saraswati, Munger, 1980.
