We celebrate Ram Navami after Spring Navratri. Chaitra (Spring) Navratri Pooja grants satisfaction and a joyous life. All the Shakti’s are honored and prayed to. By such prayers one recognizes the Shakti within oneself. One prays for forgiveness for all of one’s sins.

According to Swami Sivananda, Devi destroys the evil which exists in one’s mind. Then Lakshmi implants the divine qualities which lead to spiritual unfoldment. Then Saraswati bestows true knowledge on the aspirant.

The tenth day is Ramanavami, which is the birth of Rama. Rama is the 7th incarnation of Vishnu. He is the epitome of mortal man. He is a symbol of truth, righteousness and virtue. This glorious day is celebrated by visiting temples and offering prayers.

It is believed that the birth of Rama will bring peace and prosperity.
