880 – One is always in the presence of God

Whatever happens in your life, no matter how troubling things might seem, do not enter the neighborhood of despair. Even when all doors remain closed, God will open up a new path only for you. Be thankful when all is well. A Sufi is thankful not only for what he has been given but for also all that he has been denied. – Shams Tabrizi

Swamiji said that without distress and despair in one’s life, one would be an incomplete person with no understanding and appreciation of life. It is the Divinity which guides one and one must place one’s trust in Him/Her.

When I read rule of love given by Shams and then recollected what Swamiji had said, one has to be conscious of the constant presence of God within oneself.
