The Buddha asked his disciples to share whatsoever knowledge and blessings they received. So, when they meditated, worshipped or prayed, they were to remember to distribute whatever peace they were granted.
They were not to hold on to the joy for even a moment. It was meant to be shared and they were irreligious if they did not spart with it. He emphasized that one had to pray to the supreme being to allow the happiness to be distributed to those who were in need of it. He stated that one must open the doors of one’s heart and allow the peace to flow towards all, who needed it—just as water flows down the mountain.
This great compassion is the ultimate liberation one is seeking.
