We had a buffet lunch in a restaurant today in Dambulla. I will share the menu with you. I have never seen so many vegetables as I saw on the table. It was a paradise for vegans.
In Sri Lanka, they use coconut oil, coconuts and some other oils. What is amazing is that there is hardly any dairy. I visited the market and took some pictures of the vegetables. To share with you, there was at the buffet, cooked cabbage, bread fruit, aubergine, okra, radish, banana flower, sweet mango chutney, whole mango seed cooked, dal, potatoes, snake gourd, pumpkin, beetroot salad and squash.
They had put the raw vegetable in front of each cooked dish. I had never had bread fruit and I tried it. There was red rice, yellow rice and white rice. And pappadums and coconut rotis. Other than traditional Buddhist food, there was Chinese food also.
