015 – Story from the Guru

Thursday is considered the Guru’s day. I want to share a story with you, which my Guru shared with his disciples.

It was a stormy night. There was thunder and lightning. A sannyasin was walking with a lantern. It was a road in the hills. When a motorcyclist whizzed past him. He had no lights. The Sannyasin called out, “Hey, take my lantern. The roads are slippery.”

He shouted back “I have no brakes”.

We are like the motorcyclist, we do not heed the voice within us, which can lead us on the path of self awareness and enlightenment. What is awareness, it is watching yourself performing a neutral activity. Concentration is being aware of your breath and counting backwards.

If we can do this for 108 breaths daily, we can walk on the road to self development and non judgement.

Aim Hrim Klim.
