Dear ones, make a list of all your joys. You will be surprised as to how much we have to be happy for.
My greatest joy is that I came to Yoga Vidya 21 years ago and have a second home with people I love and respect. I cannot explain this feeling but I feel like crying when I leave.
My 8 joys
- I am on holiday in a forest and we have a river running by. I can hear the gurgle of the river. The water is crystal clear and in the day time the birds come. They sit on the rocks and gaze into the water. It is as if they are practicing trataka. Then they swoop into the water and swoop out. They do it several times. I am content to observe them.
- It is so quiet and at night the stars are shining. Seeing the stars twinkle is a blessing.
- I am thankful that I come to Yoga Vidya and I teach and learn. Where else would I have such disciplined students, who perform daily sadhana. Maybe almost daily, I will not praise them so much or they will stop practicing. I learn from all the questions my students ask and it makes me learn more so that I can have the answers.
- I am thankful to Yoga Vidya for the picture gallery. Every time I climb up the stairs, I look at these great teachers. I have come to respect and understand the different Gurus.
- I have become closer to Swami Sivananda, as earlier before coming to Yoga Vidya, I was not so well informed about his piety and wisdom.
- I am thankful to my Guru, Swami Satyananda Saraswati, who said to me that I must study the teachings of the Masters. It was a revelation as one’s mind becomes open and one is not influenced by prejudice. The Guru grants this blessing and I see it in Yoga Vidya, where teachers, who follow different Gurus come and teach. Namaste Sukadev.
- I was very ill in October and I thank my family and my Yoga Vidya family for their concerns and prayers.
- All children call me Granny, wherever I go and I feel very happy about it. I have forty kids in Delhi and even my grand children call them Granny’s children.
Dear ones, my list is long but make your own and appreciate what you have got.
