Saint Augustine is one of the most important figures in Western Christianity. His philosophy was that it is all about the will and providence of God; and believers are to devote themselves to studying, discerning, praising, and submitting to the eternal design of God. He was never ashamed to admit his failures and spiritual doubts.
His Prayers are beautiful and full of faith.
Breathe in me, O Holy Spirit, that my thoughts may all be holy.
Act in me, O Holy Spirit, that my work too may be holy.
Draw my heart, O Holy Spirit, that I love you but what is holy.
Strengthen me, O Holy Spirit, to defend all that is holy.
His night prayer.
Watch, Lord, with those who wake or weep tonight.
Give the Angels and saints charge over those who sleep.
Lord Jesus Christ, tend your sick ones, rest your weary ones.
Bless your dying ones, soothe the suffering ones, pity all the afflicted ones.
Shield the joyful ones, and all for your love’s sake.To seek the greatest good is to live well, and to live well is nothing other than to love God with the whole heart, soul and mind: It is therefore obvious that this love must be kept whole and uncorrupt, that is temperance. – Saint Augustine
What does temperance mean?
It means the practice of controlling your thoughts, and behavior in a way that it is always reasonable.
Dear ones, the practice of Karma Yoga will fulfill the words of Saint Augustine. Unconditional love and being aware of the Divinity everywhere.
