Good and truth go hand in hand

Good has so many meanings as does truth. Good means possessing desirable qualities, moral excellence or kind and benevolent according to the Bible. Truth means accuracy, verity or actuality. According to the Bible, truth is that which is consistent with the mind, will character, glory and being of God. It is the self-expression of God.

A good word makes the heart glad. – Proverbs 12:25

Good words are worth much, and cost little.

A good word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in settings of silver. – Proverbs 25:11

All truth is good to know, but not all truth is good to say. – African Proverb

It is good people who make good places.

Do good and throw it in the sea.

A harmful truth is better than a useful lie.

Truth is a deep kindness that teaches us to be content in our everyday life and share with the people the same happiness.

If you tell the truth, you do not have to remember anything.

Goodness and truth are described in this quote Philippians 4:8.

Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report: if there be any virtue, and if thereby any praise, think on these things.

This verse encourages focusing one’s thoughts on positive qualities like what is true, noble or admirable. Then one develops positive thoughts and experiences peace in the presence of God.

The proverbs are ancient and yet the definition of Good and Truth remains the same. We have to apply it in our daily lives.
