Satya is truth

The Sadhana of Satya is a continuous process. In order to practice the Satya Sadhana, one has to understand the meaning of Satya and its application to one’s life.

Satya is a Sanskrit word which means truth. It represents reality, honesty, sincerity, virtue and the alignment of thought, speech and action. It is the core principle in Yoga and Hinduism. To be truthful, one has to be bitterly honest. There are times when one has to refuse. One has to learn to say no, when one has limitations and there is a shortage of time. One has to be truthful to build credibility.

So, we need to be truthful at all times. It also means to be true to oneself and this is a difficult path. Truth is when one does not justify one’s actions if they are dishonest to oneself. The path of truth is a tough path but it is one which will guide one to self-awareness and liberation. Only the truth can set one free.

Pause, dear ones and understand the concept of Satya. Inculcate the Sadhana of truth in your daily life.
