A swan song is a metaphor used to refer to a final gesture. The term originated in ancient Greece culture and its first reference is found in Aeschylus’s Agamemnon, which was written in 458 BC.
The whole life is a swan song! Never forget these lines:
The lion when stricken to the heart,
Gives out his mightiest roar.
When smitten on the head, the cobra lifts its hood.
And the majesty of the soul comes forth,
Only when a man is wounded in his depths. – Swami VivekanandaSadness is but a wall between two gardens. – Khalil Gibran
‘The walls we build around us to keep sadness out also keeps out the joy.’
The mind is both a friend as well as one’s enemy. – GitaThe Sadness will last forever. – Vincent Van Gogh
How do we overcome our sadness? It is possible through breath awareness.
Sit with eyes closed.
- Breathe in and out deeply for a few minutes.
- Become aware of the inhalations and exhalations. Continue for five minutes.
- Count your breaths. Count backwards from 27 to 1. Count 27 I am breathing in, 27 I am breathing out.
- Add So Ham or Aum to the breath.
You will observe your thoughts will reduce as you are not engaging with them. They will become weaker through daily practice.
