In the Gita, thank you is expressed through gratitude, surrender and service.
Devotional offerings: Offering simple things—a leaf, fruit, flower or water—with love constitutes thanks. – Bhagwad Gita 9.26
Surrender (Sharan Gati): Recognize all blessings come from the Divine and returning to Him is the highest form of appreciation. – Bhagwad Gita 18.62
Recognizing the Divine Spark: Seeing God in all beautiful settings. – Bhagwad Gita 10.41
Gratitude is not just a positive emotion; it is a reminder that goodness exists in the world and that the presence of Divinity is everywhere.
- How do you feel, when you offer a flower at the altar?
- How do you feel when you verbally thank someone who serves and praise them?
- How do you feel when you gift a charity?
This is all your gratitude which is coming into play. The most important feature of your gratitude is your awareness of the Divine.
