Oh! Hanuman, bless me with Prana

Hanuman is the embodiment of enthusiasm. If we can cultivate even a fraction of that enthusiasm, we will not be distressed with failure. Hanuman is an empowering hero. He is the son of Vayu; the Wind God and he is considered the God of Prana.

Hanuman was praised as the best of servants by Sri Rama and when he handed over the chudamani (beautiful ornament worn as a head piece), Sri Rama held it close to his heart and called Hanuman Purushottam (mighty mortal). It means he, who is best among men, who does much more than the difficult task entrusted by his master.

Sita blessed Hanuman, she said:

You are endowed with rare characteristics of good speech. You have strength, valor, scholarship, prowess, spirit, stability–you are blessed with numerous brilliant virtues that exist in you alone.

All we can do as ordinary mortals, emulate even one of these virtues. We can start by purifying our prana through Samvrit Pranayama.
