The two mandalas of form and sound are considered to be the backbone of Tantra, however there are other mandalas which are used. The Mandala of smell is one of these. One can imagine the fragrance of jasmine and smell it.
There is a specific Kriya for developing the intuitive smell. It is called manduki kriya. The mooladhara chakra is stimulated as it is the seat of smell. One practices nose tip gazing and with each inhalation the air changes. Then one becomes aware of the smell. The concentration is total. Neti also enables the sense of smell to be heightened. The mind becomes the creator.
As explained by Swami Satyananda Saraswati.
Manduki kriya is a very enjoyable practice.
