Who can practice Tantra Shastra?

Any one of us can practice Tantra Shastra. It is for those, who are sincere and genuine and who surrender themselves to Shakti.

In Tantra Shastra, every practice is combined and adjusted with the attitudes and behaviors of an average person. One follows the natural process as one does in daily life. Awakening the Goddess does not mean abstinence and rigidity in one’s life.

Worship of Shakti Devi the feminine deity is conducted. All mantras, mudras and other forms of worship are addressed to her. The sixty-four tantras are there and one can choose the one which one wishes to follow. The purpose of all Tantric system is one and that is to evolve and express the Maitri aspect (motherly) which is the nucleus and center of total consciousness in living beings.

The mother aspect denotes the central sphere of individualized awareness, which is Shakti or energy. The term Maitri symbolizes the greatest power in man and not only the mother in the emotional sense.

Tantra Shastra is a system, which deals with the techniques, mediums and applications concerning the individual power and knowledge which is said to be at the depth of human consciousness.

Practice of Tantra Shastra is for the householder. It is a happy combination of occult techniques and devotional attitudes. One has to surrender oneself to Shakti – the divine power.
