We worship the three-eyed One Shiva, who is fragrant and who nourishes all beings. May he liberate us from death for the sake of immortality, just as a ripe fruit is freed from its bondage.

Achyuta – Ananta Govinda

This mantra is often repeated 108 times and is used to invoke divine energy for healing and overcoming ailments.

Om Shanti Mantra (for mental health and stress relief).

Om Shanti, Shanti, Shanti.

It helps to reduce anxiety, emotional tension and promotes inner peace.

Tips for chanting

Consistency, repetition and focus.

Chant daily, preferably during the early morning hours (Brahmamuhuruta). Brahmamuhuruta is the auspicious, predawn period typically occurring for one hour and thirty-six minutes before sunrise. It generally lasts from approximately 3.30 am – 5.30 am. The period before sunrise is considered the most sacred.

Repetition by reciting 108 times using a mala (Japa Mala). A japa mala is a string of 108 beads used in Hinduism, Buddhism and Jainism for mantra chanting. Chanting is known as Japa. It serves as a tool for keeping count of mantra repetitions without losing focus. Traditionally held in the right hand, it helps practitioners maintain concentration during prayer and meditation.

Be focused, concentrate and be intent on healing while chanting.

How can we achieve peace of mind and wellbeing? Our thoughts are the villains and they fill us with fear, stress and anxiety. If we cease to converse with our thoughts, then we will feel protected and fearless. Chanting the mantras enables one to accomplish this objective. Also, while chanting, if we add the Samvrit Pranayama as we mentally say the mantra, we will be free from negative influences and recurring fears.
