Prana and renewable energy

Dear Ones, we are all aware of the five elements, which comprise the universe, mother earth and all sentient beings. The five elements are earth, water, fire, air, and ether. We practice sadhanas to purify these elements.

The sadhana is called Tattva Shuddhi and when we learn to purify the five tattvas, we simultaneously are working on the five koshas and the chakras. It is a spiritual process which leads to the others. It is the cosmic Prana, which is flowing through the tattvas, koshas and chakras. We are born with our prana which works on all aspects of our being. Our prana is within us and around us in the cosmos. This cosmic prana is the prana which also comprises renewable energy.

Why am I writing about something that many of you know of?

My reason is because of the subject of renewable energy. And what is it? It comprises of solar, wind, bioenergy, geothermal, wave and tidal sources. Let us examine them one by one. Solar energy is considered to be the source of all life and energy on earth. Wind energy is derived from the air element. Bioenergy is derived from energy crops, agricultural residues, forestry residues and organic waste. Geothermal energy is derived from the heat, fire element, beneath the Earth’s surface. Wave energy is derived from the kinetic and potential energy of ocean waves. It is extracted from the water element.

How is it renewable?

Waves are created by wind, and the wind is caused by the uneven heat on the planet’s surface driven by the sun warming different locations at different rates. Tidal source energy is harnessed from the ocean waters driven by the gravitational forces of the moon and the sun. Ether energy is the underlying conscious energy of the universe.

We are perpetrators of ecocide, which is mass destruction or severe harm to the environment. Renewable energy is our only resort to save Mother Earth. And this means we have to cease polluting the environment, reduce consumption of fossil fuel, stop using toxic fertilizers which are killing the flora and fauna.

We have to give back to Prakriti (nature) by conserving the Prana which is the source of all energy including renewable energy. It starts by us becoming conscious of who we are and what is our responsibility to Prithvi Ma.
