Remorse

How often does one feel remorse?
What is the meaning of remorse?

Remorse is contrition, deep regret, repentance and penitence. Do we have these feelings and emotions. It is a feeling of sadness and being sorry for something one has done.

Make a list and examine your feelings. How can we atone? Are we remorseless? Do we say that they deserve it, with glee?

We can be free of remorse if we practice atmabhava. Atmabhava is love for our fellow beings, empathy and compassion. Being reflective will remove our negativity, as we examine our behavior.

I am sharing two quotes with you.

There is no person so severely punished, as those who subject themselves to the whip of their own remorse. – Seneca

Remorse is a violent dyspepsia of the mind. – Ogden Nash

Make it your to do list.
