Smarna (Memory) Sadhana

How do memories make one? Memories are influencers, which influence one, and will and can affect our behavior. How should we handle our memories and how can we benefit from them.

I will share with you some very powerful quotes from the Bible on memory.

The memory of the righteous is a blessing, but the name of the wicked will rot. – Proverb 10

Close your eyes and understand this quote. Experience the rush of different feelings.

Finally, brothers whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about all these things. – Philippians 4:8

Again, repeat the process. Examine your attitude. What is your perception? Do you have a change in your outlook?

Memory (Smarana) Sadhana

  • Practice concentration. Focus your mind on a single object, such as a deity can significantly improve memory and will power.
  • Practice introspection.
  • Develop your virtues.
  • Remember the divine.

This is the most powerful and effective sadhana. It turns the mind inwards and cleanses it of worldly attachments, which can be difficult but is the key to liberation.
