Dear ones, I have cervical spinal stenosis and I had to have a procedure. I was in the hospital and I came home the next day.
What I want to share with you is that while it was being performed, I was awake. It was done with local anesthesia and I was aware throughout. It was terribly painful, when I felt the needle on my spine. What was wonderful was that they played Devi Kavach.
Devi Kavach is the armor of the Goddess and we chant it for protection for our entire system. Devi Kavach invokes various forms of the Goddess to guard every aspect of life. It removes fear, provides spiritual armor.
Well at night, I was unable to sleep. I chanted Hrim in Rotation of Consciousness (It maps body awareness to brain centers to activate the parasympathetic system to relax and rest), after every part of the body mentioned. Swami Niranjanananda has mentioned it as an addition in Yoga Nidra. It is based on Nyasa.
Nyasa is a sacred Tantric ritual of placing mantras on specific body parts to invoke the Divinity. It is a form of energetic, mental or physical consecration used in Yoga Nidra to align, protect and purify the body. Swami Satyananda, my Guru, introduced this practice in Rotation of Consciousness in Yoga Nidra in a way that one could comprehend this process.
I used the mantra Hrim as it invokes the divine feminine energy, Shakti. It is also known as the heart mantra, symbolizing purification, creation, healing and transformation.
The Cosmic Mother takes care of all of us. We have to pray with sincerity and she is all knowing.
Aim Hrim Klim
