457 – Gender neutral prayers

Our prayers are gender neutral and yet we have so much conflict between couples. I have listed four prayers and they are recited as invocations and supplication. There is no discrimination in them.

Our prayer to the Cosmic Mother, Durga is a prayer which can be said by all. Durga is known as Devi or Shakti. Devi means woman, and Shakti means power. Durga in Sanskrit means a fort. Ma Durga protects us all.

The mantra is:

Shanti karmani sarvatra tatha duh Swapna darshane.
Grah pidaasu chograsu maahaatmyam srinu yaanmam.

This mantra outlines the omnipresent nature of Goddess Durga. Chanting it helps one to deal with any sort of situation in life. It also encourages the development of positive thoughts in one’s mind and eliminates fear. It also can be chanted if one is experiencing nightmares.

The second prayer is the Shiva Gayatri mantra:

Om Tatpurushaya Vidmahe Mahadevayaya Dhimahi Tanno Rudrah Prachodayat.

This mantra is a form of the most powerful mantra in Hinduism. It grants peace of mind.

Mother Mary’s most powerful prayer is the Hail Mary.

Hail Mary, Full of Grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now, and at the hour of our death. Amen.

Our Father’s prayer appears in two forms in the New Testament. The shorter version in the Gospel according to Luke (11:2-4) and the longer version, part of the Sermon on the Mount in the Gospel according to Matthew (6:9-13).

Our Father, Who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; Thy kingdom come; Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil.

Please read all the prayers and see that there is no inequality and discrimination and each prayer is complete.
