Let us address the Asuras existing in the world. I am using the word Asuras because it is used for a class of demons and antagonists. They waged wars against the Devas, who represented forces of light and positivity. The common phrase is the elephant in the room, but the elephant is a good animal with buddhi (wisdom), affection and loyalty.
The title under which the Asuras operate is called terrorism. It is the calculated use of violence to create a climate of fear, which leads to accomplishing a particular objective. The Asura are the bands of terrorists, who are using weapons of destruction. They are responsible for assassinations, suicide bombing, taking innocents as hostages, hijacking, and expropriation.
Now ask yourself these questions?
- Are we not the creation of one God?
- Do we not only one father?
- Then why are we fighting against each other?
The world lacks peace and tolerance. We have lost our spontaneity. We are governed by feeling of religious and racial discrimination. The list is endless and these emotions spawn hatred and malevolence. Now we do not know how to cope with other people. We are governed by prejudices.
What can we do?
We can learn to operate through trust, peace and goodwill. Have respect for other faiths and respect for human rights. There are some words used in this context. They are greetings used in different religions.
- Shalom, which means peace be unto you.
- Namaste means I bow to you. The meaning is I bow to the divinity which resides in you.
- Salaam means peace be upon you.
- Peace be with you. Praise the Lord.
Prophet Isaiah said,
And he shall judge among the nations and shall rebuke many people, and they shall beat their swords into ploughshares and their spears into pruning hooks; nations shall not lift swords against other nations; neither shall they learn war anymore. The wolf and the lambs shall eat together; the lion and the bullock will eat together and dust shall be the serpent’s food. They shall not hurt and destroy in all my Holy Mountain as spoken by the Lord.
The reference to the Holy Mountain is the mystical Mount Zion, the definitive temple, the place where the right praise of God comes to full expression.
Where has our faith gone?
We do not have trust in each other; we do not cooperate with each other. Our broken relationships can never be mended because of our lack of trust. We lack self-awareness and empathy.
We need to act in good faith otherwise our actions become meaningless. This applies to what is happening all around us. We have forgotten the values of brotherhood and sisterhood. The principles of peace and justice are forgotten.
Dear Ones, my understanding leads me to expression of Atmabhava, to see ourselves reflected in others and love for all sentient beings. It will lead to peace and harmony.
