Hail to the Divine Creatrix

Oh, Mother I entreat you to save the earth. Now is the time, when all of us are praying to you. Please end all the wars, discriminations and hatred.

Swami Sivananda, was a Devi Bhakta as all Gurus are. He addressed Devi as the Supreme Shakti of the Supreme Being. He gives his arguments for his faith and beliefs.

The 13 arguments

  1. When Vishnu and Mahadev destroyed various Asuras, it was Devi’s power which was behind them. Just imagine the Super Gods bowing to Devi and requesting her strength.
  2. She is the Creatrix (spiritual creator who is energized by creativity and the ultimate divine feminine) of the universe.
  3. She is the Universal. She has many names and forms, Durga, Kali, Bhagwati, Bhavani, Ambal, Ambika, Jagdamba, Kameshwari, and Tripurasundari. She is worshipped in her three forms, during Navratri, as Kali, Lakshmi and Saraswati.
  4. She is the all-encompassing mother of the good, bad and evil.
  5. She is Prakriti, nature. The whole world is her body, the mountains are her bones and the rivers are her veins. The ocean is her bladder. The sun and the moon are her eyes. The wind is her breath. Agni is her mouth. The universe is her stage.
  6. She is symbolically female but is neither woman or man.
  7. She is a force that manifests itself in various forms. She is the five elements and their computations. The external manifestations of the mother are ether, air, fire, water and earth. Her internal manifestations are intelligence, discrimination, will, and psychic powers.
  8. Humanity is her visible form.
  9. She is the dormant shakti in the form of Kundalini shakti. She resides in the Mooladhara Chakra. She vitalizes the body and soul through the Sushumna nadi.
  10. She vitalizes the universe through her Shakti. She is the energy of the sun, the fragrance of the flowers and beauty of the surroundings. She represents the colors of the rainbow. She is the potency in all healing processes.
  11. She has countless manifestations.
  12. Shiva and Shakti are dual. The supreme lord is represented as Shiva and his Shakti is Maha Shakti, Durga or Kali. Without her, Shiva has no expression and without Shiva, Durga has no existence. Shiva is the Soul of Shiva and she is identical to him. Shiva is the silent witness. He is pure consciousness and she is dynamic.
  13. Shakti is the embodiment of power and the active aspect of the inherent God is Shakti.

Dear ones, meditate on Shakti and become enlightened. You can pray to the Goddess in any of her myriad forms. She is everywhere and if you are constantly aware of her presence, you are protected and become fearless.
