760 – Cradled in the arms of the Mother

Prostrations to you, O Narayani! O Narayani! You who bestow auspiciousness on all things auspicious. You bestow fulfilment in all fields of pursuits of all beings, and the following of Dharma, Artha, Kama and Moksha. You are merciful to those who take refuge in You, O three-eyed Goddess.

It is a wonderful emotion to visualize the Goddess as the Mother of the universe. It again emphasizes how powerful our love is for her and how she reciprocates it. All our negativity disappears when we pray to Narayani. With our birth mother, we feel safe and with the presence of the Divines Mother, we are protected. Continue reading

Prasad, bhet, akshat and daan are different names for giving.

Daan means charity. Any giving by a householder is known as daan.

Prasad means an offering of goodwill. Any giving that happens in a temple, church or ashram is known as prasad. This offering or present carries good wishes for one’s health, happiness, prosperity and peace. Continue reading

  1. Tell my friends that I care for them. I am there for them.
  2. Tell my parents separately that I appreciate how they have raised me.
  3. Share my cache of chocolates at my workplace.
  4. Give things which have been in my closet for years away.
  5. Take my dog for an extra walk.
  6. Give a surprise gift to someone.
  7. Make a meal and distribute it to the homeless.
  8. Indulge myself, go to a spa, have a massage, and a facial.
  9. Make a change in my lifestyle.
  10. Venerate Mother Earth. She is giving and giving.
