599 – A true story

It happened in an army camp, based near a forest, in India, where soldiers were undergoing training. They had to be up early.

Every day a full-grown tiger would come and stand near the gate. The soldiers were terrified as the tiger kept standing there for an hour. The commandant of the camp was also concerned and he called in a tiger biologist to visit the camp. The consultant looked at the tiger and the tiger gazed back at him. The consultant felt that the tiger’s gaze was distressed, and he recommended that he and a couple of soldiers would follow the tiger. Continue reading

The Bhagwada Gita describes all the Upanishads as cows and the Supreme Lord Krishna as the cow herd boy and the devotee Arjuna as the calf. It is said that cows give milk only when there is affection for the calf. The cow has four udders, two are for the calf and two are for humans. When we think of umbrellas, we think of a protecting force or influence. Umbrellas are never thought of as negative objects. It prevents us from being exposed to rain, snow, and sunshine. The umbrella also signifies the canopy of the heavens, and our shelter. It is a symbol of the sun, and a symbol of the shade. It also represents power and dignity. We have so many beautiful colors in nature. Yet we use artificial colors for fabric and other items. These dyes are destroying our rivers, which in turn go into the oceans. I have searched for stories on paternal love and it has been very difficult finding a suitable one. Fathers are pictured as violent, and stern. Children are terrified of them if they do wrong. This is not true, though it is a man’s world, men are gentle beings and all men are not abusive and vitriolic. 384 – Earth and water elements

The universe is composed of five elements and so is our self. The five elements are ether, air, fire, water and earth. Why is there so much unhappiness in the cosmos?

Our first element is earth, and it is what composes us. Earth is our grounding and it is accompanied by the mooladhara chakra. The mooladhara chakra is the first chakra which is awakened in the fetus. It has a direct connection to the mother. After twelve weeks, it becomes independent of its mother’s prana.
